Chattanooga is known for it's Choo Choo, Mountains, outdoor recreation, and beautiful bridges. But no one would guess that it has become home to the nation's fastest internet. EPB Fiber customers are now enjoying speeds 100 times faster than the national average. What could this mean for a city that has transformed it's reputation over the past few decades? Continued growth and acceleration in recruiting innovative tech start-ups and offering already local companies an advantage found no where else in the country.

Recently, CBS Evening News highlighted the Scenic City's newest achievement in a segment. Check out the full video below.

The Chattanooga Real Estate Market has started it's rebound. In a recent article in the Times Free Press, it was reported that the number of unit sales bounced up to a 5-year high of 6,675 homes sold in 2012. Here at The Terrace at Frazier, we have seen the uptick as well. With three closings last year and activity at an all time high, we anticipate a continued surge in the Chattanooga condo market.

Hot Chattanooga Real Estate

Wednesday, 05 September 2012 14:11 in Category: Blog

With the reporting of some very positive real estate news for the nation, as well as Chattanooga, the weather is not the only thing that was hot this summer. According to the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors, for the first time since 2005, housing is on track for contributing positively to the National GDP. Closed sales are up 16.5% in Chattanooga and sales prices are up 6.1%. These sales numbers are good news for realtors, but even better news for homeowners as home values recover. In North Chattanooga, the numbers where just as good as if not better than the overall Chattanooga area, with sales prices up 7.2% over last year.

At the Terrace, we are seeing twice the volume of prospects and quite a few cash buyers. Our lenders are still seeing rates in the 3% range and hopefully staying there for the near future. According to other realtors and condo developers, interest in condo living and buying is now back on track after high-end inventory hit the market just as the bottom fell out of the national real estate market. As a timely Chattanooga Times Free Press article puts it, “the eternal optimism of some downtown boosters never faded,” and that support has proved worthy.

It makes sense if you think about it. Why would someone buy a condo in downtown Chattanooga? There are a number of reasons, including downsizing, tired of maintenance, shorter commute, etc., but the main reason we hear over and over is to reap the rewards of the revitalization of downtown Chattanooga.
